The DR12BN is 12 inches long and has a brushed nickel finish that matches any of the coordinating fans sold in the Craftmade company. If you are not sure what length downrod you should use, you should know that a ceiling fan should be no lower than 7 feet from the floor to the bottom of your light kit, if you have one, or to the bottom most point of the fan. The higher you hang your ceiling fan, the farther the circulating air will travel which helps to more effectively cool the room.
