The Scalamandre zebra quatrefoil planter is for all of us design adventurers.
Featuring the iconic blue denim "zebras" Scalamandre pattern, the porcelain centerpiece planter is shaped to hold four---6" diameter plant containers. Perfect with a spray of white orchids or assorted green plants the container is accented with dark pewter finished metal feet.
We also suggest using the planter for fresh flowers--as it holds water; or for entertaining as a wine bucket. Simply line the bottom with a towel or bubble wrap for protection, then add ice. Perfect on the buffet sideboard
A little background history: In 1945, Flora Scalamandre was asked by a friend in New York, Gino Circiello, who was opening a small restaurant to develop a fun, animated wallpaper for his new restaurant Gino's. He fell in love with the whimsical repeat of the prancing zebras that she presented to him. The motif was instantly put into repeat and printed on wallpaper in the color of the rich marinara sauce. Its still a hit today!
Scalamandre offers the pattern in fabric and wallpaper in a multiple of colors.
